Sandi Goldstein, MPH, Director

Sandi has focused much of her life’s work on the health needs of youth.  As Director,  Sandi is responsible for overseeing all aspects of CAHC including designing and implementing trainings and workshops, conducting data analysis, producing publications and facilitating collaborative development.

Sandi has over 25 years of experience in project development, management, training and coalition building in public and private sectors. Previously, Sandi worked for Alameda County Health Care Services, where she co-founded the Alameda County Adolescent School-Based Health Center Coalition and managed a federal demonstration project for a county-wide oral health project for low-income children. She also worked for the Center for Human Development and the Marin Perinatal Project.

Robin has worked in the field of adolescent health for the past thirteen years. She has sought to find creative solutions to the myriad of challenges teens face both in direct service with adolescents as a mental health provider, and in research, policy, and advocacy work on youth health.  In her position as Associate Director for the California Adolescent Health Collaborative, she is involved in direct research on a range of adolescent health issues as well as policy and advocacy efforts to improve health services and environments for teens throughout the state.


Maria-Elena Young, MPH, Adolescent Health Analyst

Maria-Elena has extensive experience in adolescent relationship abuse prevention and sexual and reproductive health promotion, from research to program implementation and evaluation.  In addition, she has worked on projects to understand and reduce health inequities in diverse populations.  She holds a Masters in Public Health with a focus in Maternal and Child Health.  At CAHC she provides technical assistance to local public health departments, develops and coordinates trainings, creates data, policy and best practice reports and supports adolescent health advocacy efforts.

Sami earned a bachelor’s degree with honors in Public Health at UC Berkeley in 2009, and has worked as a research associate at CAHC and UC Berkeley since graduating.  At CAHC she has researched and written for our adolescent health progress report,  created original material for our Minor Consent and Confidentiality Toolkit, and is currently collecting data for our HEART Project.
