Out-of-Home Youth - Resources on Mental Health

With funding from The California Wellness Foundation, the AHC is developing a resource network on mental health issues with a focus on resources for providers working with out-of-home youth. Many of these youth lack family support and are among the most vulnerable to severe mental health problems.
This project includes:

  • Web-based resources for sharing information about mental health issues with a focus on out-of-home youth.
  • Statewide convenings to facilitate information-sharing and technical assistance to service providers. We are planning statewide meetings in northern and southern California to bring together providers working in the fields of foster care, juvenile justice, and homeless/runaway youth. If you are interested in participating in the planning of these meetings, please contact Serena Clayton at sclayton@californiateenhealth.org or 510-268-1310.
  • A monthly mental health policy e-newsletter (in process).
  • Community events held in partnership with local public or private agencies to support local networking. (See the AHC events page for current events.)
